General Statement for the Beyond Books and Buildings:
North Carolina's History of Higher Education Digital Project.

The digitized materials on this website are intended for research use only. Publication and/or broadcast in any form (including electronic) requires written permission from the relevant archival repository and payment of applicable fees, if any. For purposes of private study, scholarship, and research, you may reproduce (print out, photocopy, and/or download) materials from this Web site without prior permission in accordance with the "Fair Use" portion of the United States Copyright Law.

United States Copyright Law
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

Reproductions of materials on this website may not be made for or donated to other repositories, nor may they be further reproduced without written permission from the relevant archival repository.

The availability of reprodcutions (photocopies, scans, photographic prints, etc.) and the fees for those reproductions may vary considerably amongst participating institutions. For reproduction information, requests, and permissions, please contact the relevant archival repository.

If you are citing materials, please give proper attribution of the source in your citation.
